For those who know Dan on a personal level, his "Craft Art" is
as important to him as his music....
Dan takes the world's that he knows and transforms them into visually stunning
miniature art. One look at these
superlative craft works and you will understand that, you have to have
been to the Islands to have created
"the Tiki Island Series".
Pirates, well Dan is the "Acoustic Pirate" but he never really
met one. And in today's real world of murdering
treacherous Pirate's, he's OK with that.....
His works come in the worlds we LIKE to be in, you know, being on vacation,
scuba diving, hunting and fishing and
drinking on a beach! Shipwrecks and nautical themes also. These are little
dynorama's of life as you wish it....
Also, Dan owns HalloweenExperts.com and LOVES the Autumn and Halloween.
Gathering of friends for Chicago
football, bon fires and exploring old barns. These are also subjects of
Dan's miniatures!
Each one is unique and takes several days to build, with only one motorized
tool, his trusty Dremel®.
Dan has a master cabinet maker hand craft each shadow box out of American
made hardwoods, and uses American
made materials throughout, except for exotic materials form Madagascar
or imported silk plants from the Orient.
And Balsa wood, that is not native to America!
We thought you might like to see what goes into making one of Dan's
original master creation's, so come along on the design and build of a
piece called "Master Divers". When finished, this piece will
be numbered and
signed and released for sale. Asking price for this design is $ 150.00.
June 3, Box Assembly and Initial Background Painting
Each box starts as 4 sides and a back, Dan glues three sides and the
back and leaves one side open to insert the glass.

June 4th 5:00am Cavern Carving and Highlight Painting
Yep, the day starts early for Dan! But before he starts cutting and carving
the cavern element
a hot steamy cup of joe must enter into the picture (he needs his fingers
for music and other things).
Next base color painting and highlighting, and the in the three hours since
Dan awoke 4 more cups of
coffee!

DAN IS NOW DONE WORKING ON THIS PIECE FOR SEVERAL DAYS!
(he rotates different projects to keep the creativity flowing and not get
burnt out on one project)
